Recently one of my sisters experienced dehydration and had to receive an iv drip for a couple of days. Upon visiting her I asked this question, "Haven't you been drinking water and didn't you know that you were dehydrating?" She replied, "No I haven't and I did not even know that I was dehydrated."
Isn't that amazing that her body was dehydrated and she wasn't even aware of this condition only until her physical body began to react to that dehydration. As I begin to think about this the Lord began to speak to me. We will get to that in a minute.
Do you realize that your body is composed of approximately 60% water. Water is know to hydrate the body and keeps your joints and body working. It cleans out the toxins in your body and promotes cardiovascular health.
You can be spiritually dehydrated and not know it and also not recognize the symptoms of it. Here are some symptoms that you are becoming spiritually dry.
- Easily angered
- Lack of self control
- Unwise choices
- Speech and language begins to go negative and bad words begin to be inserted
- Slip away from attending church and your friends begin to change.
- Thinking only about yourself and what makes you feel good, your happiness.
Being Spiritual Dehydrated Causes Symptoms to happen, just as your physical body begins to produces reactions in real life.
Hydration is the solution and the answer to both our physical and spiritual needs. It is absolutely imperative that you receive fluids as quickly as possible to re-hydrate your body. Here is the way back to Hydration in your spiritual life!
John 7:37-39, Jesus says, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow
from within them.” The living water referred to in this passage is the Holy Spirit
Jesus calls the weak, the weary, the worn, the broken, the busted, and in need to come to Him just as they are. By coming we are asking Him to restore us to His life and fellowship again.
He calls us to drink of the living water. In other words we must go to the WELL and draw out of it the refreshing water we need in which to live. There is a part for us to play. We would not go to a natural well and just expect water to appear. We would have to get the bucket and send it into the well and then draw it back up to us then putting the cup to our lips to drink. Every action is necessary for us to be re-hydrated.
Jesus is calling you! Can you hear Him! There are things happening all around you that is encouraging you to come to the water! Heed His call!
"Father God, I repent for allowing myself to stay hydrated in your love. I ask your forgiveness for not even knowing that my well had run dry. Restore unto me the joy of your salvation and make me mindful and aware of the importance of staying close to you in the bad times, and the good times. Amen!"
