If You Want Different Results.....Do Something Different!

At my age I am still befuddled as to the "why" people who SAY they are on the same page and have the same belief system still can't work together to accomplish anything.

Everyone is situated in their own local fellowship concerned ONLY about themselves, or their group, or so it seems.   You would think that in heaven there is going to be a corner for each denomination or ministry group.

Some of the inward thoughts are:  How can we get more people?  Will so-in-so be here today?  Did you hear about.... Look at the way he/she is dressed today!  Only tell me what I want to hear preacher!  Just tickle my hears!  Is it 12 noon yet?  (ouch)  (See cartoon above)

Don't get me wrong!
  • I understand that we need diversity in the body of believers of Jesus Christ!
  • I understand that there has to be leaders and that someone has to drive the bus!
  • I understand that God has set people, places, and things in motion to accomplish a task in the Kingdom of God!

But, what we must understand is that God never intended for us to get so fixed on our padded pews, that we forget the OVERALL picture of what His people who worship in many different places, locations, and times are called to do together as the "many member-ed body of Christ."

When are we going to get it, as the people of God, that DIVISION and worrying about our four and no more will never accomplish HIS KINGDOM PURPOSE!

Don't give me all the theological reasons why we can't come together to worship the King of Kings, and the Lord of Lords as ONE or why we can't WORK TOGETHER for a common cause, the cause of Christ which is advancement in the world.  Businesses do it!  Organizations do it!  The world does it!  It seems the only people who have a tendency NOT to work together (cross denominational, cultural, and racial, barriers, etc.) are the people of God.

The scripture says there is “one Lord, one faith, one baptism” (Ephesians 4:5).  Check out             1 Corinthians 12:12-27 and see what it has to say about the people of God.

There Are Some Things We Can Agree on as the People of God

1.  Jesus came as a man, died, and was buried, and on the 3rd day He Rose Again! (Halleluiah!)
 (1 Corinthians 15:4)

2.  The only way to heaven, is through the blood of Jesus Christ, and confession of sin.
1 John 1:8-10

Those two points alone are enough to allow us to UNITE as the body of believers and accomplish the task in the Kingdom of God!

You are not being asked to quit your local fellowship, change churches or ministries, or pay a membership due in order to belong or participate in  this UNIFIED group of believers.

So what's the ISSUE.............hum.......maybe we will have to continue this blog some more...

Heavenly Father, please create in ME a clean heart and a right spirit. (Ps 51:10)  Help me to see that I am not abandoning my local group, or pastor, by allowing you to use me to network with others who are wanting to further the Kingdom of God in our community to make a difference.  We need a Kingdom COMMUNITY so that people will feel safe and want to join Our Community.  Help tear down the barriers and the walls that exist between us, your people in the name of Jesus.  Amein!
